Superheroes movies like Avengers Assemble should not be scorned Earlier this year, beneath the wind-whippedtarpaulin of a catering tent in Gloucester, I was working on a film with theactor Malcolm Sinclair. Over scrambled eggs at an ungodly hour, he told mesomething I had not previously known: when Christopher Reeve was young, barelyout of Juilliard, he was roundly mocked by his peers on Broadway for acceptingthe role of Superman. It was considered an ignoble thing for a classical actorto do. I grew up watching Superman. As a child, when I first learned to dive into a swimming pool, I wasn't diving, I wasflying, like Superman. I used to dream of rescuing a girl I had a crush on (myLois Lane) from a playground bully (General Zod). Reeve, to my mind, was thefirst real superhero.
这篇是之前我贴过的,现在把它一并整理过来,此日记写于2001年剑桥大学。 原文: " You thought you'd found a friend To take you out of this place... It's a beautiful day..." U2, All That You Can't Leave Behind. It's not exactly Shakespeare, but it's a good place to start. These were the words I heard ( in Bono's [see photo above] euphoric cry ) as I sipped the forth off a late morning coffee in a cafe up the Caledonain Road, just opposite HMP Pentonville. And a beautiful day it was. I had walked all the way from Oxford Circus. It was the 20th of December , but the sun, in a rare moment of compassion for its earthly progeny, had its hat on, and the sky was a deep, Mediterranean blue. Walking in the sunshine it wasn't all that cold. In fact, it was lovely.
