Final Fantasy XIII-2 Fragments After is a 242-page book, which contains several stories revolving around characters such as Lightning, Snow, Noel,Alyssa, and Yeul. As the title suggests, the book mainly covers loose ends within the plot, and organizes the mysteries that have yet to be disclosed as well.

The Yeul of 400 AF is the "Yeul who liked to sing." Her Eyes of Etro awakened at seven years old, said to be the longest time for a seeress. Her first vision had been filled with singing and of Hope standing before Cocoon's crystal pillar. The singing is coming from the "daughters of the goddess", Fang and Vanille, within the pillar, but it is mentioned that it cannot be heard by people's ears.
Seeing the strength in Hope's eyes, Yeul aspired to be strong like him.
She soon foresaw the Cie'th outbreak in Academia and her own death. Spurred on by Hope's courage, she calmly decides to go there and meet her fate of her own volition.

After betraying Serah and Noel, Alyssa arranges for the duplicates in the Augusta Tower to kill Hope as an act of desperation to save herself from disappearing.
In the Augusta Tower's system, Hope finds a diary belonging to Alyssa, telling the events in the Bresha Ruinsat 5 AF, revealing her hatred of the Pulse l'Cie for causing the Purge, how she came to hate Noel, Serah, and Hope for trying to kill her by fixing the timeline, and how she tries to stay alive by siding with Caius.
When Hope evades the duplicates, Alyssa tries to kill him herself but begins to disappear.
After Alyssa fades from existence, only a few people including Hope have vague memories of her.
In 500 AF, Alyssa is apparently replaced by an Academy intern named Aina Stein, an implied descendent of her friend Nena Stein.

Alyssa has been promoted to Hope's main assistant, and is the foremost researcher in the field of Time Gates and paradoxes. It was her report on the events that took place in the Bresha Ruins in 5 AF that caught Hope's attention and led to her rapid rise in the Academy.
There are some who believe she is using Hope to further her own ambitions, but her knowledge of spacetime theory is such that the young director entrusts her with an entire branch of research.

Sometime after Alyssa makes a report documenting the events at Bresha, she gets a message from Hope, who is impressed by Alyssa's report about the gates, and asks if she'd be willing to join his team. Now a part of Team Alpha as Hope's assistant, Alyssa has the tools she needs with her research. Everyone learns the past is reorganized to maintain the logic of the altered future, and people's memories are overwritten accordingly. As multiple possibilities cannot co-exist and only one timeline is chosen as the true history, Alyssa wonders what happens to those possibilities and which world she will end up in. She admits that despite not seeing her name on the gravestone at the Bresha Ruins, she still doubts whether or not it was she or Nena who died in the Purge. Since certain possibilities can only exist as long as spacetime is broken, Alyssa wonders if she will disappear from the world as well as the memories of the people left behind if the paradoxes are resolved and the timeline restored, just like the mysterious man in her dreams tells her.
Each of Hope's discoveries make her realize she is still alive because of a paradox and how he, Serah and Noel will soon make her disappear if they fix the timeline. Now having a hatred for them for trying to kill her, Alyssa tries to stay alive by choosing to help the man from her dreams, Caius Ballad. Believing that Caius may know a way for her to survive, Alyssa tries to find him but to no avail. Three years later at 13 AF, Alyssa and Hope set up the Proto fal'Cie Project which would claim their lives.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 Fragments After reveals that after betraying Serah and Noel, Alyssa and Hope go to the Augusta Tower to investigate an intruder in the system. Hope disposes of duplicates trying to kill him and finds a diary belonging to Alyssa in the system. It details the events in the Bresha Ruins at 5 AF, her hatred of the Pulse l'Cie for causing the Purge, how everyone would forget her and none of her research would be remembered as hers but someone else's instead, her life ultimately having meant nothing. It tells of how Alyssa plans to deal with Hope in the Augusta Tower, revealing her as the culprit behind the duplicates trying to kill him. She holds Hope at gunpoint from behind but starts to disappear before she can kill him, begging for Hope not to forget her.
The man hiding outside Academy headquarters says Alyssa has vanished without a trace, and nearly everyone's memories of her have been erased, indicating Serah and Noel fixed the paradox that allowed Alyssa to survive the cave-in. Hope and a few people in Academy headquarters now only have vague memories of her. In Fragments After, it is revealed that a century later at 500 AF, Alyssa had been replaced by an intern named Aina Stein, an implied descendent of her friend Nena.
If the player speaks to Hope after receiving the defective artefact from Alyssa, he states that although the AI of Augusta Tower may have been malfunctioning, he doubted this was merely chance and hints someone else may have had a hand in his supposed death, and the death of the other researchers as well.
