Without question, one of the busiest in Korea AND abroad is actor Ji Jin-hee! Packaged underneath his clean-cut image is a man with deep thoughts and a good heart. We sat down with the star for a very special Showbiz Extra 200th.
Starring in “DaeJangGum”, Ji Jin-hee was placed at the helm of the Korean Wave. At the peak of his career, one of his assets lie in Ji's ability to maintain his innocence and a humble attitude - despite being a great star. Ji Jin-hee gave us his thoughts on the success of the TV drama, “DaeJangGum”.
For the promotion of “DaeJangGum”, Ji Jin-hee flew over to Taiwan and China - and he was received with open arms. Ji was recognized as a rising Korean Wave star. A title that he still politely declines... But that doesn't stop him from working his hardest.
“DaeJangGum” is only a part of the Ji Jin-hee package. Before that, he starred in “Juliet's Boyfriend”, and wowed viewers with a memorable performance. Ji Jin-hee also co-starred with Cho Seung-woo in the film, “H”. He showed off a mini-transformation with an upbeat character in the drama, “Miss Kim's Money-making Scheme”. For this actor, every production is held dear to his heart.
Recently, he starred in the Chinese film, “Perhaps Love”, directed by Peter Ho-sun Chan and made his first steps into the world as an international actor.
In Korea, “Perhaps Love” wasn't very popular, but it got raving reviews in China and Hong Kong!
Ji Jin-hee will always remember the things he experienced while filming “Perhaps Love”.
In the line of Korean entertainment, Ji Jin-hee is considered one of the leads in the Korean Wave, as well as a celebrity who is constantly in close contact with it. Everything he has learned from his position in the Korean Wave, is recycled and shared with other fellow actors.
Much to the sadness of his female fans, Ji Jin-hee got married in November of 2004. And one year later, he became a proud father of a baby boy. Today he shared never-been-told stories about his son.
As the head of a household, as an actor in Korean showbiz, Ji Jin-hee keeps a level head on his shoulders - Never straying far from the basic fundamentals. His number one rule: "Live virtuously and live right."
