WHO exclusively speaks to the swimming champion's confidant and "bestie," actress Simone Kessell--who learned the truth before anyone else--about his decision to come out as a gay man. "I feel once he had made that decision, it came easier and easier and he embraced it and owned it and he was really quite excited. That was lovely to see," Kessell tells WHO. Now Thorpe, who told Parkinson he wants a family, "is really looking forward to meeting someone," adds Kessell.
