this evening i found a special way to read the subscript on MAC (i think it works for both tiger 10.4/leopard 10.5) platform... wanna share with the other ones who are using MAC like me here:
open the browser (mine is firefox for mac, but i guess safari may also work), open a new tag, drag the .ssa file icon into the new tag... done.
but the problem of this approach is that the alignment seems not so good...however, at least you can read it
sorry that i cant type chn at the moment but i will try to figure out if there is other better way later...
hope this would be helpful for someone..:)

今晚上我找到一个特别的方法，可以在MAC机上读这个字幕文件（我想这个方法在tiger 10.4/leopard10.5平台上都能用）……我在这里和其他像我一样使用MAC的人分享一下：--（乐于助人--译者注：）
打开浏览器（我的是MAC用火狐，不过我想safari也可以的），打开一个新的标签，把.ssa文件的图标拖进这个新标签，完成。--（好像很方便的样子……--译者注）
但这个方法有个问题，就是字符的排列看上去不太美……但不管怎么说，至少能看了。（9494--译者注）
