Alex and Aaron wrote this song about past girlfriends and how those girls have used them. "Adrienne" is just a name Alex and Aaron came up with to symbolize all these people. They say that "Adrienne" is no one in particular. However, in a recent german interview with Alex, Alex says that "Adrienne" for him was his first love from when he was 15. The girl dumped him for his best buddy. Her name was not Adrienne though. They believe that everyone has an "Adrienne" in his or her life.

"Somebody Out There" for me was coming to peace with something, something dark, deeply rooted in my past. I was no "little girl" as the song states, but I was 5, 5 years old and being badly molested by an 18 year old kid who lived up the street from me. This went on for 2 horrible years until I finally broke down and told someone. I questioned everything; Why has this happened to me? What did I do to deserve this? I didn't know right from wrong, I was just a little kid. Now I can't tell you what happened afterwards, but the song kind of explains that in the verses. Lets just say, things have a strange way of presenting themselves to you later in life. Something like that can haunt you forever if you let it, but it can also teach you the most important thing...that everything happens for a reason, whether good or bad, things are meant to be, and there has got to be somebody out there who decides that. Even though I would love to kick that disgusting person in the face who did that to me, if they were still around, I would probably first shake their hand and say, "Thank you giving me the passion to write music."
